Sex is crazy

Ha. Sex is crazy. Look at religion, look at philosophy, look at TV, look at music. Sex is everywhere. It sells better than any product wo/man can create. I think advertising 101 may as well have its first six chapters on how to embed sex into things enough to turn people onto your products without awakening their morals before they submit to your product. I mean, toss a hot scantily clad on a vacuum cleaner and your male customer base will go up 10% even if it doesn't work.

I was just reading about Epicurus. Some dude back a few hundred before Jesus making a life of thinking his way into happiness (philosopher). He did pretty well and even though most of his writing is gone people are still piecing together whatever they can in order to figure out what he had to say about the world. He distinguishes between dynamic and static pleasures. This is a concept he borrowed from hedonism and used to live by. The dynamic pleasures have to do with the relieving of a great pain or stress like severe hunger while the static pleasures deal with just enjoying a little food at a time. Epicurus really liked to talk about food.

Sex is a very dynamic pleasure. So much so to Epicurus he says that a man is lucky if it doesn't harm him and their is no overall good in its indulgence. Sounds something like versions of Catholicism and priesthood.

Sex is pretty scary ain't it? It hurts a lot of people real bad. But on the other hand it is one of the greatest gifts known to mankind. The people not getting hurt by it and enjoying it go crazy over it and it is a defining point in one of the most powerful relationships people deal with (significant other, bf, gf, spouse). Weird too is that the sex itself is usually not causing the harm, but when it is thrown around carelessly and perhaps mishandled it seems to bite people hard. So what is sex? Good, bad, somewhere in between. Certainly, where it is in relationship to an individual person can be a large part of their pleasure in life. I mean, their aren't many things people enjoy more without spending money. Plus you burn calories. Sex. Just saying the word gets peoples' attention. Ha. Sometimes I forget that humans are animals.
